Hi! We're back after a three month hiatus while Mom & Dad have been very busy. Lisa completed her Master's degree at the University of St. Thomas this summer. This fall, she started a new teaching job, where she teaches German and World Languages at middle schools in Anoka and Coon Rapids.
Madeline is 23 months old - her birthday falls on Thanksgiving Day this year. She is learning by leaps and bounds. She is counting, and can sing a number of melodies (even if she mumbles through a few words), including the ABCs, Sesame Street, B-I-N-G-O, and numerous lullabies and children's songs.

Maddie has fun blowing bubbles.

Feeding her Care Bear.

Maddie tries on Mom's gardening shoes.

Helping Eric celebrate his birthday.

We went back to the Minnesota State Fair in late August.

Family photo in the swine barn.

Maddie and Lisa take a ride down the Super Slide.

At the Milk station enjoying Cookies...

...And Milk!!

Lisa had a bountiful harvest from her garden this year.

One of Maddie's 5 pumpkins that she grew this year!

Maddie dries off after a nice warm bath.

A nice summer day in the pool.

Maddie loves wearing her mother's shoes. She looks great in heels!

Playing with her ABCs on the refrigerator.

She also loves stacking blocks.

This fall we went to an apple orchard. Here Maddie feeds the pet goat.

Picking the perfect apple.

Maddie savors a tasty Honeycrisp apple.

Maddie puts her feet up for a relaxing read.

Showing off her new boots - "They're Pink!"

Getting ready to go trick or treating. Maddie had a Care Bear costume, but wouldn't put it on, so we settled for something a little less intimidating. The shirt reads "Witch outfit?"

Maddie celebrates a successful haul!
That's all for now. We'll be back soon with more photos!

Madeline! You are growing up so fast!! Next year, Grandma and Grandpa are going to the apple orchard with YOU! On our trip, there was a sign: "No more apples". Don't let Mommy eat your Halloween candy! We miss you so much and can't wait for Thanksgiving, you, and birthday number 2!! Hugs from Iowa, Grandma Roling

Greetings from Des Moines. The photos are a real gift. The apple orchard touched my heart. I have several similar ones from grandnephews so this one adds to my set. Does Maddie know that cousin Andrew wrote a story about Making Apple Cider. (I have a copy on file.)
Blessings,
Maurita
