I had a conference in Palm Springs, CA, so Lisa and I were able to get away for a few days to enjoy life in the desert.

We drove out to Joshua Tree National Park and did an 8 mile hike to the Lost Palms Oasis.

The rock formations were spectacular.

If only they served Mai Tais in the real desert...

Above the oasis.

Palm trees in the middle of the desert...

A good view of how the oasis springs out of nowhere.

Next we took the Palm Springs Aerial Tram high up into the mountains.

After Lisa returned home, I went back up into the mountains to climb Mt. San Jacinto.

We'll be back soon with Halloween photos and more fall fun!

What fantastic photos! You are both so adventuresome! Have and happy and blessed Thanksgiving to your whole family.

Great trip. Thanks for sharing. Maurita
Eric & Lisa: Had I seen these photos before you left that day, I'd have inquired as to the whereabouts of your will and guardianships for the kids!! What fantastic views and such contrasts, from your lush hotel grounds, to the arid desert, to the rocky mountain top. (By the way, where WAS the path down?!) Such opportunity you both shared. You omitted a photo of the cactus stuck to your shoe. So glad you had a good time away. Love & Hugs from Iowa, MOM & DAD
